More Than words January Challenge

What a wonderful first Design Team Challenge. I loved the birthday idea. My inspiration was my memories of the birthday cards when I was a little girl and the retro look and colour. I used tags as my base and layered them on the patterned paper. Using stencils and molding paste - I added texture and finished off with Lindy Stamp Gang magicals - Queen of Hearts Red to add colour. I used strips of paper to add the layered background and Dusty Attic chipboard. I used Finnabair Royal Red, Raven Sparks alchemy paints to give the chipboard a rich colour. Finally I added extra embellishments such as tickets and ephemera to add retro detail.

I hope you enjoy and play along with this months challenge. click on the following link to their challenge blog.

Dusty Attic December Project

This page was a lot of fun to make and it gave me a chance to use the fabulous Dusty Attic Stencils. I started by marking out where the photos would sit on the page. I used  the floral stencil DA1323 with molding paste randomly over the page making sure that the flowers were set off the side of the page and also coming from under the main layout. I used a variety of Lindy's Magicals - Industrial Chic  over the top of the flowers adding colour and dimension. Using the word stencil DA1494 inked randomly  with Archival Ink Sepia. Using a range of Dusty Attic paints, Colour Blast Leather Paste, Prima waxes and Art Alchemy paints, coloured all of the different chip board. Mounting the 2 photos on inked white card stock, attached them to the background. Tip: I glued 2 pieces of thick cardboard to the back to lift the photos up so that the chip board embellishments could be slipped underneath. Finally added all of the embellishments.

I Hope you enjoy this project. For more details on the current Dusty Attic Challenge - go to

Dusty Attic December Mood Board Challenge

This mood board  featured one of my favourite colours and couldn't wait to create a layout using colour, texture and lots of Dusty Attic chipboard.

I started by building up the background with the Dusty Attic Stencil - DA1825 randomly over the page. Once it was dried, I used a postage travel stamp and using embossing ink stamped in and around where the main feature would be. I embossed with a cream embossing powder that added to the rustic layered look. Using a variety of paints I added a random distressed layer and finished with a diamond stamp to compete the grunge look. Using a range of Dusty Attic chipboard, I built up the platform for the photo and added tags and strips of patterned paper to support the overall main feature. Finally I placed chicken wire chipboard in under the main feature to connect with the rest of the page. A final addition of some coffee dyed cotton lace, prills and a title completed the look.

I hope you enjoy and would love to hear your comments.

Dusty Attic November Project Layout

November Project - I loved the idea of adding texture and a little bit of a grunge look to compliment pretty photos. I have used a Dusty Attic Stencil to create a textured look and spray so add colour and shading to the background to add colour. I used rust paste to the foliage behind the photos as well as adding colour and a soft gold wax to the floral stamens. i layered the pieces behind the ATC photo frames to build up the overall look and finished with gauze that had been stiffened with structure paste and sprayed with a soft off  white spray.  word tags completed the look and complimented the overall feeling of the photos.
